PRESBYTERIAN SUPPORT HOMECARE WORKERS GET SIGNIFICANT PAY INCREASE
Presbyterian Support Upper South Island’s homecare workers in Nelson and Marlborough will receive an average pay increase of around 15 per cent, CEO Vaughan Milner announced today.
“As a result of the increase in government funding, we have been able to significantly increase our homecare workers’ pay to more than $14 per hour – well above the minimum wage,” Mr Milner said.
“We are really pleased because it does value the care of older people in their own homes, and recognises to a greater extent the skill and compassion needed for that work to be done well.”
