Community Services for Older People
Although Presbyterian Support Southland is a major provider of residential services for older people in the region we know there are those who prefer to remain in their own homes for as long as possible. Our community services are designed to provide the help that family or friends are unable, for one reason or another, to provide.
Supportlink Service
For many older people, our Supportlink Service makes the difference between coping with day-to-day living at home and having to move into a residential care home. The Supportlink program matches volunteer workers with people living in the community in need of some form of help, this can range from providing transport to the shops to "sitting" while spouses or caregivers have time out.
