Connecting with Parishes

As part of our commitment to working closely with the church, we provide several seminars and workshops that can be booked throughout the year by Presbyterian and cooperating parishes. These are provided free of charge and can be facilitated at the venue and date of your choice.

The following seminars are available:

Understanding Grief and Loss Workshop  A workshop that helps identify the needs of those who are grieving and how to best support them.

Pastoral Preparations – A Pastoral Care Seminar  A seminar designed to provide people with the skills required to effectively offer pastoral care to a community.

Getting On with Getting Older – A Positive Ageing Seminar  A seminar with a positive approach to making the most of life as we get older.

The seminars are facilitated by Sue Braithwaite, Community Liaison Manager. Sue is also available for speaking appointments at Sunday services, church groups and other community events. She is an experienced and entertaining speaker who is passionate about using positive learning tools to help others. Please contact her on 09 520 8653 or 027 520 8653 or by email sue.braithwaite@psn.org.nz to discuss.

Support Sunday, 29 June 2008

Your opportunity to get involved and support those in need in your community! Donations can be made at your church or alternatively phone 0900 30405 to make an instant $20 donation.

Support Sunday will be held in parishes on Sunday 29th of June. It’s an opportunity for churches in our region to get behind our work and support us through prayer and contributions.

Support Sunday has been held in Presbyterian parishes since 2005. Based on the ‘Tree of Life’ concept, Support Sunday embraces the promise in Revelations 22:2 “And the leaves of the trees were for the healing of the nations”. We believe that by grounding our roots in prayer and faith we can continue to grow, reaching out to the communities around us who so desperately need our help.

We look forward to your support!
