The Hawke's Bay District Health Board (HBDHB) and Presbyterian Support East Coast (PSEC) Boards have agreed that a new Cranford Hospice Board will be established to oversee the direction and performance of Cranford Hospice.

Hastings Karamu Rotary Cranford Hospice charity golf tournament, which was held on Friday 30th April, raises $7000 for Cranford Hospice.

Cranford Hospice has accepted the findings of a special audit commissioned by the Hawke's Bay District Health Board and will move quickly to make organisational changes as recommended in the report.

During 2009 Enliven in partnership with Age Concern Central Hawkes Bay opened a community cafe in Takapau.  The Community Cafe is a new concept for older people, where they attend for as much or as little of the Community Cafe menu of activities they wish......

Payroll giving is an easy way for employees to support good causes as it enables donations to go directly from a person's pay to a chosen community organisation.  Payroll giving will be administered through the PAYE tax system, so people whose employers sign up for the scheme will receive the tax benefits of their donations each payday, without having to present donation receipts or wait to claim at the end of a tax year.

Our business is child protection, keeping kids safe, keeping kids in school, keeping kids in families that care and protect them.  We want all children to be part of a fair and strong community.

Following a bequest by Leslie Elms in 2006 Elms House, as it came to be known, was developed as the Cranford Hospice centre for Education and as a place to house the Family Support Team. 

Join us on Wednesday 4th November at Hastings Centre Mall 10:00am - 2:00pm and at Napier Sound Shell - Marine Parade, Friday 6th November 10:00am - 2:00pm for first pick of the strawberry crop.  Bowls of delicious strawberries and ice cream served for you by volunteers from Price Waterhouse Coopers with happy smiles and loving care.  Only $5.00 each (cash only).

We have recently begun a new initiative in selling Art at Mosaic.  As our gallery has been out of action for several months due to our building programme, we are now listing our students' artworks for sale on TradeMe.

Families often like to reconnect with Cranford and with staff, and so we offer the memorial candle service back ato the community, who support us in so many ways in our work.

It is estimated that over 40,000 people in New Zealand have dementia and by 2026 this will increase to over 74,000.

The 2009 Midlands Hawke's Bay Charity Wine Auction which was held over Queens Birthday Weekend raised a phenominal $160,625 for Cranford Hospice.

All good brands undergo ongoing logo development and we are no exception.  The new logo has been derived out of a consultation process with a number of our stakeholders and we think it is representative of Cranford at present and of where Cranford is headed.

Enliven Day Programmes are in an exciting growth phase.  Our very successful day programmes in Napier, Hastings, Waipawa and Gisborne support more than 75 older people to be social and keep active.

The 4th annual Real People @ Mosaic Wine Box Auction is confirmed for the 26th August

The new year has only just begun but the team at arts workshop Creative Space have hit the ground running.

This years Holly Trail resulted in a record $179,000.00 being raised - more than $20,000.00 more than the previous record set in 2006.

Enliven Restorative Home Support service piloted in partnership with the HBDHB becomes a permanent service and is set to expand in the region - doubling the number of places for older people in Napier and Hastings.

Enliven Homeshare is an established shared living programme which has been running successfully in the United States, across Europe and in Australia for over two decades.

Now there is an information directory dedicated specifically for older people and their families/whanau which can be accessed online.

Recruitment of the leadership team at Cranford is almost complete.

Child & Family Hastings is being rebranded Family Works, as part of the regional and national rebranding being undertaken throughout the country by Presbyterian Support.   

Qualcare Group, one of New Zealand’s leading aged care providers, and social service agency Presbyterian Support East Coast (PSEC) have signed an agreement for Qualcare to acquire six residential facilities owned and operated by PSEC in the Hawke’s Bay and Gisborne area, for $21 million

   Innovative new services to meet changing needs.

Commencing in July 2005 this new service from Presbyterian Support East Coast is being funded as a “pilot” for one year by the Tairawhiti District Health Board.

The Board proceed with consultation with staff and stakeholders, and consider their feedback before deciding whether to sell the following residential care facilities: Atawhai; Duart; Dunblane; Eversley and Woburn.

The last few months have been an exciting and busy time for the people involved in developing Taradale's Education & Lifeskills Centre into a Creative Space.
